Ghorepani Travel Guide: Poon Hill Trek, Views & Itinerary
Ghorepani is a traditional village in the Myagdi District of Gandaki Province, Nepal, and it sits high up on the Annapurna Circuit and Annapurna Base Camp routes. Most people know it as the starting point for the Poon Hill sunrise climb. The village is ringed by rhododendron forest, which turns pink and red in spring, and on a clear morning the views stretch across Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Machhapuchhre, better known as Fishtail. Gurung families run the cozy teahouses here, and their warm welcome, along with the local culture, is a big part of why trekkers of every fitness level remember this stop long after the trek ends.
